This might be your cure

When I bought my computer over three years ago I bought it from Dell. To my dismay I found that the monitor had a red stuck pixel in the upper right corner. It turns out taht Dell, along with most, got a dead/stuck pixel policy where a certain amount is considered ok.

Well, it's not ok in my world. I'm really picky with details. That pixels has taunted me for years when make graphics. And it was really bugging me when playing games and the radar display would be in the same area as the dead pixel. When I was fully emerged in a game I'd constantly forget about the dead pixel and think that it'd be a damned agile enemy behind me.

Anyways, it now seem to be fading into a dead pixel which I rather prefer as oppose to a bright stuck one.

Until today I thought there was no cure for this, but it seems that a little java applet might be the cure. I'm trying it myself right now, but I think it's truely dead.

However, I thought that maybe you lot out here might be interested in giving it a go.

Oi! What happened to my paragraphs?

Never mind. Some manual adding of HTML BR sorted it. But still, I thought WC did this automatic?

Nor my 910MP, but my COMPAQ notebook did from the start and they also had the "allowable" policy, much to my irritation. Thanks, thomassen, for the link!

Buy your monitors at costco... they take returns for ANY reason.

I got a 22" HD monitor and it had two red pixels, took it back and they didn't even open the box before they exchanged it.
